I love love love Irving Penn's still lifes. He worked closely with Vogue and a lot of these photos accompanied articles in the magazine. On the left is "Cholesterol's Revenge" and on the right was a photo that went with an article about osteoporosis prevention foods. Here are some more still lifes and other miscellaneous photos that I enjoy!

Irving Penn brought his studio all over the world and photographed veiled Moroccan women and the Mudmen of New Guinea, among others. I love the way they are set against the studio background and taken out of context. These pictures revere and dignify the subjects and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!
